The Titan Times- How to store your Leaf Vacuum for the Winter season

Prepare Your Leaf Vacuum for the Winter Season

As the winter season approaches, it's important to properly store your leaf vacuum to ensure it remains in good condition for the next season. Here are some essential steps to prepare your leaf vacuum for winter storage:

  1. Disconnect the battery: Even when turned off, any machine can slowly drain the battery, which can reduce its overall life. Be sure to disconnect the battery to prevent unnecessary power loss.

2. Add a fuel stabilizer: If you plan to store fuel in the leaf vacuum for more than 30 days, consider adding a fuel stabilizer to prevent the gas from breaking down and damaging the engine and carburetor. Alternatively, you can opt to drain the gas out of the unit completely.

3. Replace or clean the air filter: Foam or plastic filters can be cleaned, dried, and coated with oil before being reinstalled. This will ensure proper airflow and protection for your engine.

4. Drain or change the oil: Keep your engine in top shape by draining or changing the oil before storing your leaf vacuum for the winter.

5. Cover the leaf vacuum: Storing the mower under a cover can help prevent dust and moisture from damaging the internal and external parts, ensuring it stays clean and protected.

6. Store in a cool, dry place: If possible, store the mower in a dust- and frost-free place to prevent any potential damage from harsh winter conditions.

Follow these steps to ensure that your leaf vacuum remains in optimal condition during the winter months, so that it is ready to go for spring clean up and fall.
